Rave reviews from the road! Check out what Pat Moran, from the CLog, says about about Hot Tuna during their recent stop at the Neighborhood Theater in Charlotte, NC.

We particularly like this description of “Good Shepard”:

Kaukonen and Casady revisited their Jefferson Airplane Alma Mater with “Good Shepard,” transforming the psychedelic pedal-work of the original into plaintive finger-picking, growling liquid bass, gypsy Django Reinhardt excursions and acoustic, prog flights of fancy before snapping back like a rubber band to a hill country stomp.

Whoa, doesn’t get any better than that!

Attention Hot Tuna Fans! If you were thinking of going to the Hot Tuna shows in New York City this fall, you better act quick! Word is that there are less than 200 tickets left for the Friday, November 22, 2013 show at the Concert Hall@NYSEC. And the Saturday November 23, 2013 show at the Beacon Theater is over 50% sold. So we are estimating that the Concert Hall will sell out in the next couple of weeks and The Beacon sometime in October, a good month before the show.

So, just a heads up to all you procrastinators out there (you know who you are), buy your tickets soon or you might not have a chance. Good Luck!

And to all those fans who have already bought tickets, Thank You! and we’ll see in November!

Hot Tuna is set to join The Blind Boys of Alabama and Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk on Saturday, November 2,2013 for a benefit show for SEVA. The “Sing Out for Seva” concert will be hosted by Wavy Gravy.

The Seva Foundation started as a small group with a big idea, and the idea was this: To be fully human, we must translate our compassion and concern into useful service.

That simple statement conveys something about the nature of compassion that is expressed in most spiritual traditions around the world — that compassion is not just about helping those less fortunate than ourselves, it’s about the realization that we are all connected as one human family.

If you buy VIP Tickets you get to meet and greet with Jorma and Jack and the other artists. Come on out to support a great cause!

VIP Tickets are only available through the Seva Foundation web site. These include: A post show meet and greet reception with the artists, a limited edition event poster signed by Wavy Gray and a collectors laminate pass.

Hot Tuna returns to The Beacon Theatre in New York City for their annual electric shows, Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st. Past years performances have been off the hook with the addition of special guests since we celebrated Jorma’s 70th Birthday. This year is shaping up to be a hum-dinger! Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams will be there as they have for the past few years. Bill Kirchen, Steve Kimock and G.E. Smith will also make a return performance to these annual gigs. Cindy Cashdollar, who hasn’t played with Jorma much since the Blue Country Heart days will be on hand for the weekend . . . there are sure to be some command performances from Jorma’s Grammy Nominated album from a decade ago. To round out the weekend, bluesman, Steady Rollin’ Bob Margolin will also be in the house to help you shake away any holiday blues you may have.

Tickets are on sale now!

Jorma’s 70th Birthday Bash at the Beacon Theater in NYC on December 3 & 4, 2010 was a very special night, if not a historic one. Electric Hot Tuna and Friends lit up both nights with straight on rock and roll. It was a celebration of Jorma’s Birthday for sure, but it was also a celebration of a lifetime of friendships and musical camaraderie.  The night was captured on video by a small crew with hand held cameras. Shot in standard definition, the video was strictly meant for personal archival footage. But the concert was so good and music so great that everyone decided it needed to be released. So here you go! The DVD is a collection of selected songs from both nights of Jorma’s Birthday at the Beacon Theatre in NYC, December 3 & 4, 2010.
Enjoy!
